"Just Lose It, Meridian" Launched

The city of Meridian has launched a weight-loss initiative, called "Just Lose It, Meridian."

Details were announced Tuesday at Bonita Lakes Park. The campaign will continue through the end of the year.

The challenge is for at least 1,000 people to commit to losing 10 pounds each. You may register at www.meridianms.org.

"Click and then they'll be able to put their name and how much weight they've lost. Or do it as a group and they can put their group name and total pounds," said Mark Naylor, director of Meridian's parks and recreation. "We just ask them at the end of each month just to log in and tell us how they're doing. That's all. We're not asking for an initial weigh-in or anything like that. Just let us know how you did."

To help people get motivated, Anderson Fitness Center and Curves for Women are waiving their usual sign-up fees during this time.

Just musing...this weight-loss might go more swimmingly, if the two new restaurants were not opening...just a thought. :>)
