A "Walk of Memory" will be placed around the new veterans service center of the American Red Cross. It's located at 1820 23rd Avenue in Meridian.

In exchange for a $50 donation to the Key Chapter of the American Red Cross, people may have a brick placed to honor someone or commemorate a special event.

"On the backside of this building, we hope to raise $35,000 for a handicap-accessible full wheelchair lift so that we can have full access for veterans that have been disabled from the war," said executive director Cheri Barry. "And this is something that this entire community can get involved in, by making a donation to the Key Chapter of the American Red Cross Veterans Center."

Barry said she hopes the bricks stretch all the way around the building. You may contact the American Red Cross Key Chapter by calling 601-485-5151.
