Saturday was a time for some creative minds to gather together. The most talented in the area of arts and crafts had a chance to shine.

They did so at the 26th Annual Homemakers Arts and Crafts Show and Sale. It was held at Meridian's Frank Cochran Center. From nine in the morning until five in the evening, individuals were able to see arts and crafts of every kind. But those unique items are not easy to create. They require time, patience, and hard work.

" We do this as a means of letting people to have an opportunity to sell their homemade goods. That's one of the requirements for anyone selling, that everything be homemade and this is just an opportunity for the homemakers to make a little bit of money. The money that we take up at the door is used for projects in the community," explains Judy Harwell, the President of the Lauderdale County Homemakers Council.

Admission to the arts and crafts show and sale was 50 cents and all crafts are homemade. A total of 87 vendors participated on the inside of the Frank Cochran Center. Another 40 vendors set u p outside.

The show will also be held on Sunday, November 7th. It will be held at the Frank Cochran Center again and run from noon until 5p.m.
