Kutless Concert Benefits Habitat for Humanity

There is a new addition to Meridian's 'Around Town Carousels Abound' collection.
The carousel horse, Crown of Splendor, was unveiled Tuesday at Aldersgate Retirement Community.
The name comes from Proverbs 16:31: "Gray hair is a crown of splendor. It is attained by a righteous life."
It was created by four local artists, Carolyn Causey, Laura Abney, Mary Belle Rawlings and Wanda Hastings, who unveiled it today.
"The Crown of Splendor, I think, represents all of our residents at Aldersgate," said executive director Lawona Broadfoot. "And shows that they all have contributions to the community, to families and to life. And they're our crown of splendor out here as well. And so now we have a horse that represents that."
The 'Around Town Carousels Abound' program is a fundraiser for Hope Village for Children. It has placed more than 60 of those decorated carousel horses all over the Meridian area.
