The Disabled American Veterans mobile services van was at Meridian's Highland Park Monday.

A staff member was available to answer questions for veterans who may need to file claims. Benefits and services can change from one year to the next.

"Twice a year, we bring our mobile service out, out to areas too far from Jackson so veterans won't have to drive as far. We bring the office to them," said Charles Pugh of DAV Mobile Services. "Most of the questions we've been getting today are questions of, if you have a current disability, how can you get those increased? And general questions on how to get new service connected disabilities?"

The DAV's services are free to all veterans and their families. Other stops in the next few days include Laurel, Ocean Springs, Picayune, and Foxworth, Miss.
