A west Alabama town is getting ready for its annual festival this weekend.

ButlerFest in Choctaw County every year draws thousands of people to downtown Butler. Officials say this year should be no exception.

ButlerFest will feature a barbecue cook-off, live music, arts and crafts vendors, a 5-K run, a historic walking tour of downtown and a car show.
Organizers say it should be a good year.

"For us it's not so much the economic impact as it is just doing something for the community to come together for Choctaw County," said Virginia Loftis of the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce. "It's about us coming together, having fun, spending time together, having fun together as a community."

This year's ButlerFest starts Friday night. It will wrap up with a street dance Saturday night.
