5K Run Raises Autism Awareness
Updated: 7:43 PM - Local runners took to the streets to raise awareness about an important cause this weekend.
The Meridian Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Claire Fox Hillard will be featured at the city's annual July 4 fireworks show at Bonita Lakes Park. It will be joined by the Meridian Symphony Men’s Chorus.
The festivities that day will include a flyover by pilots from NAS Meridian.
Entrance is free of charge. The celebration starts at 8 p.m. The fireworks show begins at approximately 9 p.m.
Food vendors will be ready to serve at 4 p.m., or pack a picnic.
Free shuttles to the stage area will be provided by the Meridian Transit Service and City of Meridian Cultural Affairs from the Bonita Lakes Mall parking lot. Park your vehicle next to Shoe Carnival and catch the free shuttles starting at 5 p.m. The last shuttle will run at 8 p.m.
The same shuttles will pick up riders from the drop location and return them to their vehicles at the conclusion of the fireworks show, returning as many times as needed.
