NAS Meridian has taken another step forward in marketing its "Golden Wings Over Meridian" air show.
It's set for March 2011, but advertising for the event will showcase the work of creative students.
Graphic arts students at Meridian Community College submitted designs for the poster that will be distributed to promote the air show.
The winner is Amanda Orozco of Chunky.
"I wanted to do something kind of vintage, something unique that not a lot of people would think outside of the box," said Orozco. "And so I went with my gut feeling and thought, it worked obviously, so I'm very excited."
The artists who created the top-5 designs were honored at the base Friday.
Ross Collins and West Lauderdale student, Ashley Jenkins, won the competition for the Golden Wings Over Meridian logo.
