Anderson Regional Medical Center awarded seven scholarships Monday to nursing students at Meridian Community College.
Each of the students received full scholarships to MCC's nursing school.
Anderson officials say these scholarships benefit the community by providing quality health care. Once these students graduate, many of them will work locally.
"We do this because we feel that this community needs and deserves wonderful nurses, and this is a way that we can help provide nurses for the hospital," said Anderson board member, Jan Farrington.
Anderson has been giving out nursing scholarships like these for 26 years.
