Musicians brightened up Saturday afternoon in Lauderdale County
Brother John Sweeney and a local group of bluegrass musicians were at the Lauderdale County Welcome Center in Toomsuba. They were there in order to perform for the traveling public.
The group of musicians tried to please as many people as possible by playing music from a variety of genres. They played and sang a mixture of bluegrass, gospel, and country music.
"I had the privilege of meeting Brother Sweeney on another occasion. We got to talking and I invited them to come out and play. The traveling public has really truly enjoyed it. We had a couple who took the time and actually got up and sang with the group for a little while," describes Sandra Chambers, a supervisor with the Mississippi State Welcome Center of Lauderdale County.
The group started the day full of music as one Saturday afternoon. They entertained for a solid four hours until the welcome center closed at five this afternoon.
