Kutless Concert Benefits Habitat for Humanity

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians presented checks to support the town of Sandersville and its police and fire departments.
Sandersville had asked for assistance, but officials said they were overwhelmed to receive $50,000.
Choctaw chief, Miko Beasley Denson, said the Bok Homa Casino and Sandersville serve each other.
"Being neighbors has been something that has been positive for all the leadership concerned and the patrons as well," said Miko Denson. "So that we know that they feel safe. They know that, you know, services are out here just in case, you know, there are some issues here. But the bigger picture is just to let, let everybody know that when we're successful, we are going to pay, pay some of those expenses that, that, out there that they incur."
"Our sales tax is not very high," said Mayor Walter Jack of Sandersville. "But with the casino out there, the possibility of growth and increasing in sales tax is very possible. It's just going to take time."
Denson said the tribe is looking at other ways to contribute. It has already improved some roads.
