Officials with a local school system are working on improvements. This has to do with the relationship between the community and schools.
Dr. Randy McCoy, the Superintendent for Meridian Public Schools, met with business leaders this past Tuesday at the EMBDC's Business After Hours Event. That's where he talked about the significant role the community can and should play within the school system.
"You can never have too much support from your community. The culture of support has to be developed such that it is an expectation that we will only have very good schools and that is all that we will accept," said Dr. McCoy.
Dr. McCoy says he is pleased with Meridian Public Schools. He sees teachers working hard, administrators trying to lead the staff in doing the appropriate things for children, and consultants giving different models for teaching methods.
