Meridian, Miss. A Meridian teenager says she hopes to help nursing home residents with the gift of music.

Savannah Gonzalez is working on the community service project for Girl Scout Troop 6403. She's looking for donations of used iPods and iPhones that she will re-purpose, by downloading music from days gone by for senior citizens.

"I'm going to give them to nursing homes for the patients who have dementia and Alzheimer's," said Gonzalez. "I'm going to put music on them, then give them to them. It kind of triggers their memory, so they'll be able to talk and interact with people."

The drop-off spots for donations are Best Buy, Central United Methodist Church, and North Park Church in Meridian.
