Lauderdale County, Miss Four years, That’s how long it's been since the board of supervisors approved the development of a new sub division. The new subdivision will be called Loblolly Highlands and will be developed by Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Development Company. Josh Todd, District 3 supervisor is very happy because the new real estate will be in his district and believes it will fill up quickly.
"We have exciting news coming to District 3. We have a new subdivision coming in on Jimmy Smith Road," Todd said. "It's the first one in four years that we have actually approved, so I’m excited about that. It's going to be right down from the elementary school. It's the first phase of three phases that we are doing, and I feel sure that it will fill up pretty quick."
This phase one of the subdivision will have eight lots and will be single family residences located just eight miles from the new Kemper County coal plant and just two miles from West Lauderdale Elementary School. Each plot will be a little over one and a half acres. Todd mentioned how more than one plot will be available for purchase should someone want a little more space. There was no additional information on had for the other two phases of this subdivision.
