The National Weather Service in Jackson is seeking daily volunteers for the national Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network, also known as CoCoRaHS.
CoCoRaHS is a volunteer non-profit rainfall observing network sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Science Foundation. Volunteers are asked to spend no more than a few minutes each day taking simple rainfall and snowfall measurements in their own backyard and sending in the data via the CoCoRaHS website (cocorahs.org). The data is of great benefit the weather community as a whole, as it goes into the models we use to predict river levels, create flash flood guidance, etc.
If you would like to sign up and help this effort, visit the www.cocorahs.org or the National Weather Service Jackson's website at www.srh.noaa.gov/jan.
