A local facility that is well known for helping out community members, received some help of their own Saturday.

Members of the Meridian Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi and its mentor program, Meridian Kappa League, hosted a car wash Saturday morning. From 8:30 to 11 in the morning, they were out scrubbing as many cars as possible, knowing that it would pay off in the end. The car wash was held at L.O.V.E's Kitchen.

Tommy Winston is the community service chair for the group. He says L.O.V.E's Kitchen deserves help since they give it.

"Car washes are just good ways to get the community out. It's a wonderful day. So we wanted to involved people in a day such as this. L.O.V.E's Kitchen because of what they stand for and what they do. We believe in service in the public's interest and that is exactly what L.O.V.E'S Kitchen is about. They are wonderful for helping to feed the hungry and that is an amazing adventure and that's what we want to support. Any that is doing something positive we want to support it with our efforts as well," says Winston.

The cost was $5 for cars and $10 for trucks. People could also pay in the form of canned goods. For ten of them, cars could be washed and trucks could do the same for 20 canned goods. The funds and goods go to L.O.V.E's Kitchen.
