As Christmas and the holidays draw even closer, shoppers were out in full force Friday trying to take advantage of Black Friday Sales.

Many stores in our area extended their hours for this day of shopping by either opening early, closing late, or both. Best Buy opened earlier Friday morning at 5a.m. Belk at Bonita Lakes Mall opened even earlier at 4a.m.

We talked to Ron Lane, the manager of Cowboy Maloney's in Meridian about the shopping chaos.

"Things went great yesterday. We had some great response here in Meridian. We had a lot of people out. We were packed all day. We were open from 7:30 in the morning until 9 last night and we had people in here when we got ready to close," says Lane.

Shoppers at Cowboy Maloney's seemed to be after one item.

"People are apparently looking for TVs: LEDs, LCDs, plasmas are really coming back this year. We've even got the 60 inch DLPs on special. "

Lane says the store did better than last year. He says the store has been doing well for the last few months.
