Multi-County Community Service Agency finally has its new home.
The agency was joined by community and business leaders this morning to officially cut the ribbon on the new administrative center.
It's located next to the South Harbor Shelter and the former administrative offices on St. Paul Street in Meridian.
MCCSA conducted fundraisers such as Dancing Like the Stars to raise money. Grants and a loan are also helping to pay the $1.3 million cost.
The 11,000 square foot building is more energy efficient and is expected to save money on operating expenses.
"We stepped out in faith to get this building. We really
didn't have any money. But we believed that it could happen and it has happened," said executive director, Callie Cole.
Cole says MCCSA now has a better environment for clients as well as the staff. The agency serves people in Lauderdale, Clarke, Kemper, Newton, Neshoba, Leake, Scott, Smith and Jasper counties.
