Meridian, Mississippi Meridian Public Schools hosted the District's first "Parent University" today. Parents of Meridian students enjoyed entertainment, but also learned a lot about what to expect for the new school year. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Amy Carter says it's an effort to bring parents and community members together to learn ways to help students have a successful school year. "There are changes in our attendance policy, and we would like parents to know that up front," explained Carter." "It's just really an opportunity for them to get ideas, information, as well as support, that can help our children." Representatives from each school were on hand to answer questions, as well as Community Partners of the Meridian School District.
