The acclaimed U.S. Naval Academy Men's Glee Club will perform in Jackson during the week of Jan. 13-16.
The main public concert will be a Salute to America's Heroes Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at Galloway United Methodist Church, 305 North Congress Street in downtown Jackson. The concert is free and no tickets are required. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The largest and most active of the Naval Academy's musical organizations, the Men's Glee Club regularly travels around the country, representing the Naval Academy and the naval service.
"This will be our first visit to the Jackson area and to be able to bring our midshipmen to perform a concert to honor those who have served means a lot to our glee club members," said Dr. Aaron Smith, chairman of the Naval Academy's Music Department.
The glee club will also be visiting several area high schools and participating in the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service Jan. 15 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Brandon.
