With the month of November just around the corner, one local church gathered to bring in the fall season the right way.
Members of Meridian's Northcrest Baptist Church hosted their annual Harvest Festival. The Sunday School Classes of the church organized the event. They made sure all of the kids were entertained with games, prizes, and candy.
"Well this is something that we do annually, here at Northcrest, as an alternative to Halloween. This is, as we call, as harvest festival as we celebrate this time of year and the harvest and all the God has blessed us with. And to teach our children about goodness and righteousness and what the bible teaches about honoring the Lord, Jesus," says Pastor Dan Lanier.
"Well it's good. It's good to get together. It's the Lord's day and it's great to get together regardless. With all of the busy schedules and things people have going on it was really just a success to have everyone under one roof and celebrate," says Kenny Walters the Minister of Students.
The festival kicked off at three this afternoon and wrapped up at six.
