This weekend marks the very first for the Salvation Army Angel Tree. One is now on display at Bonita Lakes Mall.
Juanita Davis is the Angel Tree Helper for this specific tree. She says the tree was first put put at the mall Friday evening. It will be there until December 18th. You have from now until then to bring your packages there to help a needy child.
If you happen to miss that deadline, you can bring your packages to the Salvation Army offices in Meridian located on B Street. Whether you take them to the mall or the offices, the children will get their gifts.
"We have underprivileged kids, we call them our little angels. We serve three or four different counties in the area. It's for kids who don't have as much as others do. It's a great way to help the less fortunate, to help them out," describes Davis.
There are hundreds of children that you can help out. Trees are also located at Citizens National Bank, Meridian's Naval Air Station, and other locations throughout the city.
