Other than Christmas trees, there may be another type of tree on people's minds at this time of year; the Salvation Army Angel Trees.
The trees can be spotted in various locations around the city of Meridian. One tree is located at Meridian's Bonita Lakes Mall.
Officials with the Salvation Army say while shoppers were out during Black Friday, a number of them did adopt a few angels from the tree. They say, there are still a number of children who need to be adopted.
"For some of these children, this is the only Christmas they will have. So, if someone can find it in their heart to adopt an angel we would really appreciate it," says Magic Allen with the Salvation Army.
If you would like to adopt an angel, you have until December 18th. After you adopt your angel, you have until that time to drop off his or her gift.
