Poplar Springs Elementary School held its annual Celebrate Arts! festival Wednesday.
The festival is held each year as part of the arts integration program at the school.
There were fifteen artists on hand to share their gifts with students.
Lead teacher, Clair Huff, says by using the arts, children are getting more excited about learning.
"One of the reasons we starting working with the arts integration approach was because we believed it would engage our students in learning," said Huff. "And we have seen that students are excited; teachers are excited. It makes learning fun. They are learning in a variety of different ways and we want to meet the needs of all of our learners. And so this is a wonderful way to do that."
The Celebrate Arts! festival is funded through a matching grant from the Meridian Council of the Arts.
