Volunteers began calling area businesses and individuals Thursday morning, as part of the final push to reach a $900,000 fundraising goal.
Organizers say the final 3% can make a big difference for the 14 agencies that depend on United Way support for their yearly budgets.
"If we don't reach that goal, then each one of those agencies will be impacted financially," said campaign co-chair John Anderson. "The services they provide to individuals, to families, to communities will be impacted negatively. They won't be able to reach those services that they need to provide."
If you have not had the opportunity to make your donation yet, you may still contact the United Way of East Mississippi at 601-693-2732 any time before Mar. 1.
