The United Way of East Mississippi is making progress is reaching its annual fundraising goal.
The organization announced Friday that it has raised 40 percent of the $900,000 goal.
United Way officials point out there are just a few weeks left to get to that goal for this year.
"We've had good support from the larger businesses," said Jim Briggs, campaign co-chair. "We need a lot of help from our small businesses and individual contributors. And we'd just urge everyone to pitch in and help us. We'd like to wrap things up by the end of the year. "
The United Way of East Mississippi helps fund 16 member agencies.
