The Five Days of Christmas Job Fair is bringing in employers from across Meridian who are looking to hire for the holiday season. If you plan on attending the job fair at the Win Job Center this week, you should plan on going early if you have not yet registered with them.
Nellie Satcher, branch director of the WIN Job Center in Meridian, explains, "It's open to anyone that's looking for a job at this time, but we're also asking that especially on this first day, each individual that has not registered with us to come on in and do so, so it will be an easy process as they're going through and looking because that's one of the requirements that they should be registered with us."
Companies will be in all during this week, but the largest selection of employers will be present on Wednesday.
Satcher tells us, "We have several that's planned for that day. We have at this moment about six planned for that day. I really don't want to name all of the ones that are going to be here because really we want to make sure that everyone come in, take part, and I don't want to miss anyone and leave anyone's name off."
Wednesday is also the day of the holiday job fair at Bonita Lakes Mall. Those who have not been able to find a job may be able to with these job fairs.
"We know that it's stressful this time of year, especially during the holiday seasons, and everyone does not have employment so they cannot assist their families with toys and whatever for the children, and to really pay their bills, so we're looking at this time being an excellent time to pull together to get those individuals some type of work because we know employers are out there, and they're hiring this time of the year," says Satcher.
Some employers will also look to hire long term.
