The annual Whistlestop Weekend in Meridian is a combination of the Soule' Live Steam Festival and Meridian Rail Fest.
It started downtown Friday at Singing Brakeman Park and the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum.
"We have 25 different vendors and booths, making arrow heads, brooms, print shop, and all the steam engines going, as well as the machine shop going, seeing things made in the machine shop on a lay," said Jim McRae of the Soule' Steam Museum.
The festival was expanded to two days after record crowds last year. Admission is free.
The event is from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday.
