Headline: Public leaders support SCAR with Jail and Bail
Jones County leaders and businessmen are participating in Southern Cross Animal Rescue’s first Jail and Bail fundraiser, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3 at Tractor Supply in Laurel.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The participants will be “jailed” in a cell in the store, and community members will pay their “bail” to let them out. The bail money will go to help animals at SCAR. Jail and Bail is a fundraiser that’s meant to be done with good humor and fun. Any members of the community who would like to bring their friends and surprise them by jailing them are welcome to do so.
SCAR plans to broadcast on Facebook Live from their page during the event, and photos may be posted of any new jailed participants.
Anyone wishing to help with bail has several choices: pay at Tractor Supply, call and pledge an amount that will be mailed, or pay SCAR through PayPal. SCAR is taking all donations that day, so anyone wishing to donate pet food, cleaning supplies or litter is welcome.
To participate further with the event, contact SCAR at 601-433-5807.
Tractor Supply is located off of Highway 15 at 1501 Northwest Dr. in Laurel.
