MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Students at Clarkdale High School got a taste of what their future holds Tuesday.
Students from grades nine through twelve participated in a career fair/ They got to hear what some colleges had to offer and also meet employers and learn about their expectations for potential workers.
“And I think today is a good opportunity to kind of weigh your options and see what colleges could be best beneficial to you,” says Tanasia Stennis, a senior at Clarkdale High School.
“If you don’t really have a direction or where you want to go, you can talk to people and they can help you lead and see what you’re good at and your skills, and help you, leading you to your future,” said Rosalie Doherty, a senior.
Students even had the opportunity to talk with WTOK about career options and got to ask general questions about the television news business.
The fair was a success overall, as students came out with a better understanding of what colleges and certain careers have to offer.
“Well, today is important to me because I’m a senior and it’s kind of like, I have to figure out what I want to do. And we have all these colleges here giving us great opportunities and explaining what their offices and stuff offers,” said Clarkdale senior Tabraizia McClellan.
