CLARKE CO., Miss. (WTOK)- The Clarke Co. Sheriff's Dept. arrested a man Tuesday and charged him with murder.
Kaeshawn Turner is charged with the death of Bruce O'Bryant Dear last Sunday. But the case isn't over, and the search is on for another suspect. Investigators are still pushing forward to find out more answers.
"A little early to speculate on the motive, but we do know we have the shooter in this case," Sheriff Todd Kemp says.
We asked the family if they feel Dear was targeted or it was just a random act of violence. Dear's mother says she knows there are people who didn't like her son.
"There's a lot of people that just disliked my child for no reason. Just disliked him," Tracey Bland says. "I don't understand. He wasn't a bad person."
But Dear's cousin says anyone who truly knew him, couldn't possibly hurt him.
"If they would have known him personally, if somebody would have told them to go do it and offered him a hundred million dollars, they would've been like, 'no, that's a good dude. That is a good dude,'" Kirby Pugh says.
Turner's bond was set at $50,000. His case will go before the next available grand jury. The sheriff says they believe he was the triggerman. But they don't think he acted alone.
"We do know he had an accomplice," Sheriff Kemp says. "We are seeking that individual at this time."
Now, they're counting on the public's help to track down this second suspect.
"That's how we do our job, people talking to us," the sheriff says. "And you have to earn a rapport with people where they'll tell you some stuff."
