Nissan of Meridian is inviting the public to attend its ribbon cutting on Thursday. Governor Phil Bryant and Meridian Mayor Percy Bland are expected to be in attendance. The general manager says the automotive industry helps to generate a lot of tax revenue for the area and the state.
"Not only do the sales tax dollars stay in our city, but you have salespeople and sales managers and service people all that draw income that spend that money in our city. It is very helpful to the economy," said Mike Bennett, the general manager of Nissan of Meridian.
Nearly 40 employees work at the dealership. The grand opening will be held in the showroom and light refreshments will be served.
