ENTERPRISE, Miss. (WTOK) - The Enterprise School District kicked off the first day of class Tuesday and wasted no time getting to the books. Classes began with roll call, and within minutes, the kids were studying advanced math to reading skills. The start of school also featured an open house.
“We had open house last night and we had 90 percent participation in our open house, with parents coming in and getting to meet the teachers and teachers getting to meet the parents and starting that communication. And we are just excited about getting started,” said Josh Perkins, Enterprise principal.
Being in a smaller school district doesn’t mean a lack of activities at Enterprise.
”There are lots of activities we have planned and lots of opportunities on tap for our students this year,” said Perkins.
In 2015, Enterprise ranked as one of the highest in Mississippi based on average test scores of just over 92 percent. That means the school has an "A" score in state rankings.
