First night of Ralph Morgan Rodeo draws crowd

LAUDERDALE, Miss. (WTOK) - Night one of the 83rd Semi-annual Ralph Morgan Rodeo wrapped up Friday night.

Rain held off and there was a big turnout in Lauderdale. More than 100 contestants, from Florida to Canada, are competing in fan favorite events. The entertainment is always family-friendly, and the National Little Britches Rodeo champion says it feels like she truly is surrounded by family.

"They're always going to help you out if you're down," Haleigh McNeil says. "I've had so many when my horses get hurt, they're always there to offer you their horse. They're always there to support you in the bad times and they're just always there for you."

Tickets are $12 this year. For children 12 and under, it just costs $8.
