Happy Friday! It’ll be another chilly start to your day as we close out the final work week of 2017. We will finally warm up back into the low-50s by the afternoon as there will be plenty of sunshine to help warm us up closer to average. Through the overnight hours, we’ll stick with the clear skies and temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark. Highs for your Sunday will be even warmer as we will rise to around 55 degrees. The warm-up will be short lived and cold air will start rushing in by Sunday.
A disturbance will move through our area between Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening, which will bring a cold rain to our area, with the potential for freezing rain mixing in by the evening. No major impacts are expected, but roads could easily become slick so you must exercise caution as you head out on the roads for your New Year’s Eve plans. We dry out by the first day of 2018 and will start a stretch of dry, but bitterly cold weather. How cold we will get remains to be seen, but expect morning lows in the teens and low-20s through Thursday, with highs only in the 30s. This will be some of the coldest conditions we’ve seen for our area in a while, so make sure you have that warm gear ready.
