Another hot and humid day with a mix of sun and clouds and pop-up storms this afternoon. Any storms will fall apart after sunset tonight with another muggy night with lows near 70 and low clouds. We will see a mostly dry and mostly cloudy start to our Saturday as clouds really won't clear and showers and storms will start firing in earnest after lunchtime. A shower is possible in the morning, but most of the rain will take until the afternoon to arrive. During the afternoon and evening hours, a strong storm is possible with gusty winds. Rain will continue overnight into our Sunday.
Sunday will feature plenty of rain as a weakening complex of storms could arrive in the morning with rain and storms firing through the day. No severe weather is anticipated, and stronger storms will be harder to achieve on Sunday thanks to the abundance of clouds and rain. Rain will taper off completely Sunday evening into early Monday morning with skies clearing through our Monday.
Our next system will start to impact us Tuesday as a surface low develops along the stalled Sunday front in the northern Gulf and throws moisture our way. It will combine with an approaching upper level trough for isolated to scattered showers and storms Tuesday and Wednesday. The upper level trough will clear during the day Wednesday, keeping highs in the 70s and removing our humidity.
The cool down is short lived as highs return to the upper 80s, and perhaps even 90, next Friday and we stay warm through our Memorial Day Weekend.
