MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Meridian and Lauderdale County's 2017 Relay for Life kicked off Tuesday night.
A meeting was held at the Mississippi Power building where details about the event were announced. Leaders say the relay will be held on April 28th on the campus of Meridian Community College. They say last year was a big success and they're excited for teams to begin raising money once again.
"We are number one in Mississippi. We exceeded our goal for 2016 and we're going to exceed our goal for 2017. Our goal is $255,000 and we're going to go past it," said Kathy Raley, event lead for the 2017 Relay for Life.
There are several team captain meetings in the coming months. For more information you can call 601-917-6966.
