MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - With Veterans Day coming up, many local restaurants are preparing to give back to the men and women who have served this country.
“IHOP’s doing this promotion on Friday, November the 10th, where from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. we’re going to have red, white, and blue pancakes for our veterans. You can come in and get a free stack of our red, white, and blue, active duty and any veterans that are in the area,” says Terry Watkins, the corporate director of sales and marketing for Lala Enterprises.
From breakfast to barbecue to Italian, many restaurants are having these special offers for veterans and active duty service members.
“For Veterans Day this year along with other Olive Gardens nationwide, we have a great menu set apart for our veterans just out of appreciation of their service and everything, we’re really excited about it,” says Phillip Gooch, the Meridian manager. "Employees want veterans to know that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed."
“It’s important to give something back to the community and those who served us in the military. We’re thankful for all that they do and have done for us and we want to celebrate them by doing something and giving something back to them," says Austin Halley, assistant manager of iHOP in Meridian.
“It’s very important to have these kind of offers for our veterans and our active duty just out of appreciation. They put everything on the line for us and it’s just a small token of us to share a little appreciation for our, for our, military,” added Gooch.
IHOP is also donating one dollar for every red, white, and blue pancake combo that is ordered during the month of November to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.
