STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTOK) - Mississippi State University’s Starkville campus cancelled classes for Friday afternoon due to the weather. The university said it made the decision out of an abundance of caution "due to an abundance of caution for travel safety caused by today’s regional winter weather concerns".
Essential personnel will remain on campus. Scheduled programming for students remaining on campus will continue as scheduled. Food services will remain available. MSU libraries will close but reopen at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15.
The university discourages travel this evening, but urges those who feel it necessary to travel to consult family, area media, and the Mississippi Department of Transportation for travel guidance.
