LAUDERDALE CO., Miss. (WTOK) - A Lauderdale County man is facing several charges after he ran from State Troopers on Monday.
James T. Britain, Jr., 48, is charged with felony fleeing and eluding, driving under the influence, and other traffic violations. Mississippi Highway Patrol Sergeant Andy West says a trooper tried to pull Britain over about 3 p.m. Monday on Highway 45. Britain, who was driving a motorcycle, did not stop for the trooper. West says the trooper terminated the chase on Highway 145 due to the close proximity to Clarkdale School and the reckless driving of Britain.
Later in the day, a Clarke County Sheriff's Department employee saw Britain's motorcycle on Highway 513 near Stonewall. Chief Deputy Barry White says Britain was found hiding in the woods. MHP was contacted, and Britain was brought back to the Lauderdale County jail.
