GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A man has been found guilty of setting fire to his ex-girlfriend's home after she asked him to move.

The Sun Herald reports a Harrison County grand jury found 47-year-old Willie Soloman Robinson guilty of first-degree arson Thursday. A judge sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Robert McCormick says Robinson threatened to burn down the Gulfport home when the woman asked him to move out in 2015. Moments later, she heard his voice outside her window and saw flames at her front and back doors.

Police testified Robinson couldn't be found immediately after the fire, and the woman's son saw him carrying a gas can when the blaze was extinguished.

McCormick says Robinson's actions and the evidence proved his guilt.
