37-year-old Kelda Graham is charged in that incident that happened on Bounds Road. Her charges were upgraded to aggravated assault - domestic after she was originally arrested last year.

"Two people got into a disagreement," Sgt. Dareall Thompson says. "They got into a verbal altercation where a female ran over her boyfriend."

Investigators say it all started over a simple argument over the yellow lines in the middle of the road. They say Graham and her boyfriend were arguing, after she had told him he was driving too close to those yellow lines. But that argument escalated when they got home.

Sgt. Thompson says Graham's boyfriend got out of the vehicle and was walking to his truck, when Graham switched over to the driver's seat and hit the gas, then backed up and did it again, pinning him between the vehicles before leaving the scene.

"On that same day, she was charged with simple assault - domestic," Sgt. Thompson says. "Once she came to court Monday of this year, the judge upgraded to aggravated domestic violence."

Thompson says judges often choose to upgrade charges like this after hearing all the evidence. In this case, he says it was the victim's injuries that inspired the upgrade.

"He had bruises, injuries to his leg," Sgt. Thompson explains. "Something serious, not life-threatening, but the judge felt like it should have been upgraded to an aggravated assault - domestic."

Police say the victim is now doing okay. Graham's case will go before a grand jury. Her bond has been set at $150,000 on that charge.
