Wind Chill Advisory for all Newscenter 11 counties until 9am Tuesday.
Hard Freeze Warning for all Newscenter 11 counties until Wednesday.
Temperatures have struggled back towards freezing on the first day of 2018, although it feels no where close to that as wind chills have been in the 20s throughout the day. A brutally cold night is in store as we fall into the lower to middle 10s with wind chills near 0 Tuesday morning. The record low for Tuesday is 12 (1928), and we will be dangerously close to breaking it.
Highs on Tuesday should break the freezing mark in the afternoon, albeit briefly and barely, before we drop again into the teens for Wednesday morning. Partly cloudy skies will dot the landscape as an upper level low passes over the region. Highs stay near 40 through Friday with lows near 20 each morning.
We begin to warm this weekend as winds return from the south to send highs back to the middle 50s Sunday and near 60 on Monday. Our next system looks to arrive late Sunday into Monday to bring our first rain chances of 2018 to the area as we start the second week of the year.
