OAKLAND, Miss. (AP) - Authorities continue to search for a north Mississippi man who apparently drowned while boating Saturday night.
42-year-old Ismael Alvarez of Teasdale was swimming between two boats on Enid Lake when he disappeared.
Search and rescue teams from Yalobusha and Panola counties, divers and others have been searching part of the lake near the dam. Some areas there are 50 feet deep.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which controls the lake, says it stopped releasing water from the dam shortly after the accident was reported.
Friends say Alvarez was a father of four who worked on a ranch.
Yalobusha County Sheriff Lance Humphreys is asking other boaters to stay away from that area of the lake to avoid interfering with sonar being used by searchers.
