Small business training offered this month

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - If you'd like to start your own small business, training is being offered locally to help get you there.

The Ministerial Alliance and partners like Mississippi Power are bringing entrepreneurship training to Meridian over the next two weekends.

It's free but there are a limited number of spots and you must pre-register.

You can learn about business planning, proposed financing, management, marketing, business legal structure and insurance requirements.

"Also this training is for those that have a small business and need to better develop their business model," said the Rev. Gary Houston of the Ministerial Alliance. "So this could be training for how to improve on your business plan. How to market your plan. Talk about strategy, location. Is this the right location?"

Register in advance for this entrepreneurship training by calling 228-357-5492.

The session will be held at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 544 James Chaney Drive in Meridian, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 14 and
Oct. 21.
