Sumter County trio arrested for Tuscaloosa armed robberies

Tuscaloosa, Ala. (WTOK) - Three men from Sumter County are being charged with two armed robberies in Tuscaloosa. Jemarkus Vonsha Thompson, 23, Ladarius Maurice Watson, age 20 and Quartais Deandrew Rodgers, who's 22, are each charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree. Thompson and Watson are from York and Rodgers is from Cuba.

The robberies occurred around 9:30 and 10 Sunday night at two Tuscaloosa businesses. Investigators say a firearm was shown in each case. Shortly after the second robbery, officers stopped the suspects' vehicle and say they recovered two firearms, evidence from both robberies and arrested the three.

According to police, more charges could be filed. Bond for each of the suspects has been set at $120,000.
