Happy Thursday! Different morning, same ol’ weather for us as temperatures are in the 70s under mostly clear skies. Highs will climb to around 95 today and we’ll see partly cloudy skies with a chance of pop-up storms mainly in the afternoon. Overnight, a storm is possible early otherwise we’ll see mostly clear skies and lows in the low-to-mid-70s.
Pop-up storm chances will stick with us through the weekend, and it will be a hot one with highs in the upper-90s by Saturday. Heat index values could get as high as 105 in many spots. More clouds start to build in Monday through Wednesday as a cold front attempts to make its way toward us.
Some models are hinting that this cold front will actually pass us, ushering in much more pleasant weather. Though possible, cold fronts are unlikely to do this in July for our area, so it’ll take a lot of convincing for me to go with that solution. Thus, I am keeping us with only pop-up storm chances and highs in the 90s with humid conditions persisting.
Tropical Storm Chris is continuing to pull away from the U.S. and the remnants of Beryl still have a 50% chance of re-development and is still not a threat to our country as it continues to move into the open Atlantic.
