Tuesday, February 13 Morning Forecast Discussion

By  |

Happy Tuesday! There is some light fog out there in spots this morning, otherwise it’s another cool and misty morning. It’ll also be another mainly cloudy day, though there is good chance we’ll see peaks of sunshine by the afternoon. This should help raise the temperatures to the upper-50s for highs, so an overall warmer day is in store than what we saw yesterday. There will be a chance of a stray shower throughout the day as well. Temperatures will stay in the low-50s through the overnight time frame with stray showers possible. Showers will become more isolated in nature after midnight north of I-20, while south of the interstate will see those stray shower chances continue. There will be some scattered showers around for Wednesday mainly north of I-20. Highs will approach the 70 degree mark on Wednesday, and then get well into the 70s by Thursday.

Other than some stray showers, Thursday will see mostly cloudy skies. A cold front will move through on Friday, bringing the best chance of rain over these next seven days. Highs on Friday will be determined once I have a better idea of when the front will pass, so my projected high of 70 may become cooler if the front moves through earlier, or warmer if the front moves through later. In other words, the 70 degree high is made with low confidence, but I should have a better idea tomorrow.

Isolated shower chances look to continue through the weekend with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s for both Saturday and Sunday as a front looks to stall out over our area. The front looks to finally push through sometime early next week, though not before Monday when we’ll see highs climb back into the 70s.
