Ample sunshine for us today thanks to high pressure continuing to exert control over the region. As it slides closer to us, we will see winds go light from the northwest to calm to allow temperatures to fall to and just below freezing. This will cause a light frost or freeze tonight across our area. You will want to protect sensitive plants again tonight and Thursday morning as temperatures will flirt with freezing.
Highs will struggle back to the upper 50s on Wednesday as the core of the cold air settles over the region, but through the day on Thursday, winds will turn around from the south to warm us back to 70 despite our chilly start.
Warm and humid air will be streaming back into the area on Friday to allow for scattered showers through the day. Rain looks to start as early as mid to late morning and last into the evening hours. This will also be tied to a weak upper level disturbance that will pass over the region.
Outside of a stray shower on St. Patrick's Day and Sunday, we will see partly to mostly cloudy skies with highs near and just to 80 this weekend. A weak cold front arrives on Monday to bring isolated showers before we cool down a bit, but to normal, and dry out for Tuesday.
