Wednesday, September 13 Morning Forecast Discussion

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Wednesday! Waking up this morning we are seeing plenty of clouds along with cool temperatures in the 50s and 60s and light winds across the twin states. During our Wednesday morning we will keep with the clouds along with some leftover showers as what is left of Irma pushes north of the region. Through the afternoon we will see our clouds begin to break a bit, afternoon highs will warm into the upper 70s and winds will stay lighter out of the southwest around 5 mph. Through the overnight, we will see partly cloudy skies with lows dropping below average, yet again, in the lower 60s with winds staying light out of the south southwest.

Pushing into our Thursday and Friday we will see a lot more sunshine filter between the clouds. Afternoon highs will also begin to rebound back into the middle to upper 80s for both Thursday and Friday. So looking good for football Friday night across the twin states, as we will see lows stay in the middle to upper 60s through the overnight periods.

Pushing through the weekend we will see afternoon highs stay warm, we are looking at above average temperatures in the lower 90s region wide with overnight lows staying in the upper 60s. So finally back to normal to above normal, now that Irma is a thing of the past. There is hint of some pop-up rain chances through the weekend thanks to moisture building back into the region. I will keep rain chances low, but don’t be shocked if you stay dry both Saturday and Sunday.

Next week is looking good as well, mostly sunny skies are expected for our Monday and Tuesday with afternoon highs hovering around that 90 degree mark with overnight lows stay close to the 70 degree mark. Making it a much nicer start to the week next week compared to how we began this week.
